Bring Them To Life!

Now, everyone knows that I can quickly scan through and share my digital images with the best of them. On the web they travel far and wide and reach more eyes. However, it is the printed and framed images hanging on my walls that help to make my house a home!
A very special Thank You to Emily Brackett of #LiveFreePhotographySupplisAndServives for always providing me with prints that I love!

Thanking Our Lucky Stars

Thanking Our Lucky Stars

Inspired by Adam Woodworth’s art talk during our SPA Spring Exhibit, I hopped in my car last night (9pm…really?) for a little “Star Chasing” and drove the loop from Alton, NH to Lincoln, then across the Kancamagus Highway and finally south through Barrington, New Hampshire and Home. Why I was completely alone at 1 am at a scenic outlook, high on the Kanc Highway, is rather humorous, if you think about it! I was constantly talking to myself. Mostly because I was spooked by the darkness and all the rustling in the woods everywhere I went. But the ever-present fireflies kept reminding me that there were nicer things in the dark, as well! And the fox kits running here and everywhere up in the White Mountains were my treat of the night. There were huge splashes in the water at my feet in Barrington that made me seriously grateful I didn’t live in the south for fear of losing a limb. However, the coyotes singing amongst the cacophony of bullfrogs and crickets reminded me of just how special a place that “Bog” will always to me.

And isn’t it funny that during my six hour adventure, I find my most compelling image was taken while laying in my very own driveway while attempting to capture a little slice of “Home” for my daughter living some 5,000 miles away. Yes, I now, I know, the odds are pretty good that she was also star gazing in her own backyard, laying under her palm tree and looking up at the very same sky. But the truth is, there will be no other view of the stars such as this. For THIS VIEW is where our Miss Meagan discovered “HER STARS”!

“IRREPLACEABLE!”

Wrap your head around this because at this rate … they WILL be gone forever! “North of Zimbabwe, in central Africa, an estimated 23,000 elephants, or roughly 60 each day, were killed last year. A pound of elephant tusk sells for about $1,500 on the black market. That’s more than double the price just five years ago. Ivory is used to make carved ornaments and trinkets.”

My Office Today …

“Something Wonderful, Just Around The Bend”

A beautiful spring morning while at work in Exeter, New Hampshire. While working on one project in Newfields I had a bit of time to spare so I drove just a bit further down the road and look what I found! One of my favorite things to do when out photographing is take a road I’ve never driven before or go a little bit further down the road than I was originally planning on. I am never disappointed as there’s alway’s something wonderful to photograph “Just Around The Bend.”

Snowy Owls On The New Hampshire Coast, What A Treat!

Snowy Owls On The New Hampshire Seacoast!

Snowy Owls On The New Hampshire Seacoast!

My Office Today!

Snowy Owls on the New Hampshire Seacoast, what a treat! I was traveling from “here to there” and had a few hours to spare so I decided to take the scenic route, wondered if I would be lucky enough to see my first Snowy Owl in the wild. Soooo much buzz in the Northeast photography community about the extraordinarily large and frequent sitings this winter of this beautiful raptor. Serendipity! I hadn’t driven more than 5 miles along the coast of Rye when I spied this beautiful girl sitting on rooftop, observing both the sea and the marshes from her high vantage point. First I slammed the car into park, grabbed the camera and sprinted, fearing she would fly away and I’d miss the opportunity to capture an image or two. With no one home at the boarded up summer home, a few of us brazen photogs decided to invite ourselves into the back yard and there she was … and there she stayed … for two full hours! Maybe longer, but I wouldn’t know, as I eventually had to leave. During that time, however, I was able to return to my car for tripod and photograph to my to my hearts content as she was quite disinterested in the clicking of shutters and chatter amongst the humans below.

Again, I say to Mother Nature … GRATITUDE!

MY OFFICE TODAY!

MY OFFICE TODAY!

What a treat, spent my morning in Studio A at #TheRiver, 92.5 in Haverhill, MA, with +Jeffrey Hastings and The River staff. I am most grateful for the opportunity to sit in on, and photograph, today’s live studio performance by Diane Birch! What a great voice and I really loved her song writing. It’s gong to be a pleasure working on these images. Studio A is a pretty cool place! Lot’s of incredible musicians have played in that room.

Thanks a million, Jeff, i loved my morning. I always wondered what the studios looked like at THE RIVER!

My Office Today!

We get what we’re given when it comes to weather in New England. The Kangamancus in the White Mountains was cold and grey this October Sunday and the leaves are fading fast. But that did not stop Chris Keeley and I from photographing all day long! We even had some fun with our macros, Jobi’s and reflectors. Gotta love Autumn in New England.

Now THIS is a mighty fine way to start one’s day!

There is something magical about The Brooklyn Bridge at dawn! Had a  wonderful morning photographing with the Seacoast Photographer’s Group this weekend during our  Walk In The Parks Photo Walk event in New York City! Incredible weather all weekend long and made many new friends! It doesn’t get much better than that.
